Lip reduction
Some patients have disproportionately large or
wide lips. This is usually on a congenital (or
natural) basis, and can be a feature inherited
from one or both of the parents.
Consultation with a cosmetic surgeon will determine
if a reduction is appropriate. The procedure is
quite simple. A strip of skin and underlying connective
tissue is removed from the inside of the mouth
and resutured, producing a less bulky lip without
visible scarring. The lip will be swollen for
a few days only. The procedure is safe and effective.
