| Complications
The most common complication is a nosebleed a
few days after surgery. Such bleeding can be troublesome,
but is fortunately uncommon, rarely serious, and
usually amenable to conservative treatment. Infection
is very rare. If infection occurs, it is treated
with antibiotics. Occasionally, a second operation
may be done to correct minor defects arising from
the first, or to further improve the breathing
mechanism.
